Tonelería Murúa SLU has received co-financed assistance from the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER-REACT Funds) for the Energy Audit and Energy Improvement Project, through ADER 2022-I-TE1-00002 and ADER 2022-I-TE1-00016 files, developed at the company’s facilities in Navarrete.
In the first phase, an energy audit was conducted, linked to future investments, with the goal of analyzing Tonelería Murúa’s energy mix, assessing its current and future needs, and enabling further progress in energy efficiency and sustainability.
In the second phase, a series of improvements were implemented to reduce energy consumption and enhance control and awareness of energy use across different areas. A digital submetering system was installed to measure energy consumption across various consumption centers, helping to lower usage and greenhouse gas emissions by identifying efficiency improvements through continuous monitoring.
Key Objectives Achieved:
- Understanding energy costs by consumption center, allowing cost allocation based on real data, avoiding estimations.
- Significant time savings for qualified technicians, eliminating the need for manual energy consumption measurements.
- Transition from periodic, point-based measurements (which have inherent errors) to continuous monitoring, providing greater accuracy, facilitating fault detection, and supporting predictive and preventive maintenance.
- Gaining valuable technical and commercial indicators, such as carbon footprint, specific energy consumption (kWh per product unit), and efficiency benchmarks.
These objectives have been successfully met thanks to a cloud-based digital platform, which enables the analysis of patterns, trends, and anomalies, fostering continuous improvement in energy performance.
