For several years now, Tonelería Murua has been committed to offering employment opportunities to people with different abilities. Among the latest to join is Daniel Martínez, who at 25 years of age, and after a period of training at Asprodema, has come to work at our cooperage.

As Daniel himself explains in this interview with Diario La Rioja, since he started work in April he has established a very good relationship with all his colleagues at the cooperage: «They treat me with a lot of respect and appreciation, they are always helping me in any way they can, so I’m great».

Among his various duties, Martínez says that he loads and unloads barrels onto the lorries, stores them and arranges the wooden planks so that they are aligned. «I’m very proud of my work. And although I have no experience, I do offer youth and, above all, a great desire to work».

For our manager, Elena Ceca, the incorporation of people with intellectual disabilities enriches the entire workforce. «We have been working with Asprodema and other associations for years. All the people we have had have performed their work in an exemplary manner and I therefore encourage other companies to offer them a job opportunity».

Daniel’s case is not exceptional, since, as the manager points out: «another person with an intellectual disability has also been working at Tonelería Murúa for fifteen years and the experience could not have been more positive», she concludes.
