Elena Ceca, CEO of Tonelería Murúa, has been recognised as the winner of the ninth edition of the CaixaBank Businesswoman Award in the Ebro regional division. These awards have become established in recent years within the Spanish landscape as a benchmark for diversity and gender equality. Their objective is to raise the visibility of leading businesswomen and to promote their participation in international networks where they can interact and share experiences.
The award ceremony took place at Tonelería Murúa’s premises, in an event where Isabel Moreno, CaixaBank’s regional director for the Ebro division, presented the award to Elena Ceca. During the visit, she also took the opportunity to tour the company, learn about its production process, and see its commitment to innovation and sustainability firsthand.
Elena Ceca stated she felt “very proud” of the award, describing it as recognition for many years of work, effort, perseverance, and above all, “love for this highly artisanal and deeply rooted craft.” She also encouraged other businesswomen to always move forward, emphasising that “well-done work always speaks for itself.”
Isabel Moreno stressed that the award aims to highlight the leadership of women in executive roles and to acknowledge their valuable contribution to the business world. “We believe that recognising successful female careers provides inspiration and a role model for future generations.”
“Exemplary management”
The regional director highlighted that “under Elena Ceca’s leadership, the company has achieved high standards of quality and specialisation,” and that “her exemplary management, based on honesty, social commitment, and environmental responsibility, has consolidated her leadership as a forward-looking businesswoman.”
To select the winner, the jury—composed of CaixaBank executives—assessed both the success of her business and professional career, as well as her leadership abilities and involvement in female mentoring initiatives and women’s business networks or leadership groups. The jury also considered the strength, development, and consolidation of the company’s goods and services, its export activity, level of innovation, job creation, financial soundness, environmental and sustainability practices, and commitment to diversity.
Elena Ceca will compete, alongside the other 11 regional winners, for the national award. All regional winners have been invited to join the LinkedIn Businesswoman Award Community, a space created by CaixaBank to foster networking and collaboration among award recipients from all editions and to offer them access to exclusive activities. The national winner will also have the opportunity to attend a prestigious international event to connect with leading businesswomen from around the world.
