All stages of the process are detailed transparently. The wood is identified throughout the entire manufacturing process and, at the end, the traceability is recorded on each barrel. The company has been certified since 2002 with the ISO 9001 Quality Standard and the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard, and is a member of the “Associated Cooperage Industries of America”.
Murúa coopers learn the technique of making barrels as an art, during training over five years. The company also has several training and research lines through the Rioja University, oenologist and master winemaking associations.
