The manager of Tonelería Murúa presented the Mercurio 2022 Executive Award, which she herself received in the last edition, to Mª Teresa Jáuregui, Managing Director of Quimibérica. The emotional Gala, held at the Círculo Logroñés de premiados, was attended by more than 200 guests of the Marketing Club of La Rioja, which has been organising the Mercurio Awards for 41 years, the leading business awards in our region.

This year, 47 nominations were received and the jury finally decided that the winners of the Mercurio Award 2022 will be:

• Advanced company. Oja Group. Investment of 2 million in the last five years in facilities, digitalisation, innovation, sustainability and social responsibility.
• Executive. Mª Teresa Jáuregui. Managing Director of Quimibérica, distinguished for her leadership, management and commitment.
• Marketing. ARAG-Asaja. Visibility of the primary sector and change of image adapting to the new times.
• Innovation. La Rioja Alta. Implementation of technological solutions in its winemaking processes from the vineyard to the winery.
• Social responsibility. Juan Carlos Sancha. Sustainable projects, recovery of minority varieties and recruitment of people at risk of exclusion.
• Business life. Vitorino Eguren Ugarte. He started harvesting grapes when he was six years old and in eight decades he has managed to forge his legacy with a winery of international renown and a hotel dedicated to wine tourism.

In the 41-year history of the Awards, the Marketing Club of La Rioja has recognised, assessed by a business jury, companies and managers of reference for their track record, management, marketing, innovation, among other aspects, and in short for being relevant in advanced management.

In last year’s edition, Elena Ceca, manager of Tonelería Murúa, received this award for «continuing the founder’s dream and making this cooperage a model. Expanding the business even further without losing any of the historical philosophy of the founders, focusing on quality and always offering the best personalised service to its customers».
